Deer Trophy farm was estabilshed in 2009 and the genetic background of our herd based on Hungarian and Western-European bloodlines. Our selection program focuses on body mass and antler traits, speccially for syymetric and long beams. Individial body weight and antler scores and other herd data are stored in our own developed software and used fro further analysis. Our results in trophy sizes support the effectiveness of our selection program.
Our aim to improve the genetic value of the stock available on the market, which has more modest body sizes and trophy shoulders. The first significant result of this was our stag called Kraken, which has quite an impressive spiker head. Based on his body size (16 months: 157 kg, 1st cut antler 3.06 kg), he may become a breeding stag in the near future.
Every year, the International Antler Competition and Deer Congress are held in Latvia, where red deer and fallow deer breeders can present the antler pairs of the most outstanding individuals of their herds. Deer Trophy Farm has represented itself at these competitions for several years with the following results. The first (spiker) antlers are ranked by weight, and the older stag are ranked by C.I.C. score.
